SUSTAINABLE BRANDS 2016 ISTANBUL has brought together the brand leaders working for a sustainable future.
Global meetings of Sustainable Brands ranked among the world’s 50 most important conferences has taken place this time at the Swissotel The Bosphorus in İstanbul between May 26 and May 27. New brand strategies, innovation, digitalization, new consumer trends and social impact were discussed in the Sustainable Brands 2016 İstanbul held with the theme “The Power of And” this year.
Semra Sevinç, Member of the Board of Directors of the Sustainability Academy, who made the opening speech of the conference where sustainable brand leaders and participants came together, has laid emphasis on that İstanbul took part in the first three regions after San Diego, USA and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil among those where Sustainable Brands Conference is organized. Pioneering sustainability brands and leaders in Turkey have told the participants of Sustainable Brands Conference about what kind of future they are targeting. Hekim Holding group company Prefabrik Yapı A.Ş. which has been participating as a sponsor brand for three years in the conference, the fourth of which will be held this year, has laid emphasis on the sustainable buildings for sustainable cities.
On the second day of the conference, with regard to the sustainability of the prefabricated buildings, Prefabrik Yapı A.Ş. Assistant General Manager Mustafa Tolunay who made an appearance under the supervision of moderator Meltem Çakıcı Director of Field Marketing, Middle East Region, from Schneider Electric has explained “Of course, as in every sector, it is possible to make sustainable constructions with a correct approach in the prefabricated building sector. Even the prefabricated building sector may be more advantageous than other building sectors”.
Mr. Tolunay continued his speech by providing examples from the world about the sustainability of prefabricated structures, and indicating that prefabricated structures are very intensively employed in the countries leading both technologically and economically such as Germany, France and the United States, and addressed that sustainable products can be produced with the right materials and the right techniques at all times and that sustainable cities can be developed on this basis.
Mr. Tolunay, finally referring to innovation, said that “If you do not make an impact with innovation, your competitive power will fall from day to day. Innovation keeps your organization, stakeholders and also the sector always dynamic. Innovation with such awareness is indispensable to be a sustainable brand also in the construction sector.
